Will double vision after upper blep improve?

Question

10 days after upper bleph and tightening, especially to right eye, everything is fine except for vision. Vision in each eye is okay independently, but often my right eye seems to be not working together with my left eye resulting in double vision, impairment of my depth perception and some loss of peripheral vision on the right side. Should this be expected to improve? Are there exercises to help this?

If your surgeon is not a board certified ophthalmologist, then you need to be assessed by an oculofacial surgeon.  Ask your eyelid surgeon for a referral.  It may be that the double vision will resolve on its own. However, it may need to be managed with treatment or even surgery.  In some cases, there can be a tendency for double vision that is unmasked as a result of the surgery. The oculoplastic surgeon you see in consultation will get to the bottom of this.

Double vision would be unusual after an upper eyelid surgery.  If you have a huge amount of swelling it might occur.  You should see your doctor to make sure everything is ok.

You mentioned upper eyelid tightening !!  Was that a ptosis surgery or lateral tendon tightening ?  A lateral tendon tightening, can give temporary double vision that subsides with loosening of the surgical scar area.  Upper lid ptosis surgery, should not give you double vision long therm but again the tight scar process after surgery might give you some double vision that should subside spontaneously.  Consult your surgeon if this persist !!

Elevation of the lids can "unmask" motility or alignment problems with the eyes (phorias and tropias - exo, hyper, etc.) While you are healing there are other factors such as swelling, blurring secondary to ointment... Did you have levator/ ptosis surgery and/ or tightening of the lower lids? This may also temporarily affect your eyes working together (fusion). See your surgeon to check your progress and to see if there is an extraocular motility issue. Exercises generally don't help with transient post-operative diplopia. Best wishes.
