What can I do for relief of pain until I can afford lower eye surgery? Possible ectropion? (Photo)

Question

I have been having such bad tearing burning pain in my lower eyelids to the top of my cheek,strained vision ,headaches,i usually have my right eye closed as much as possible or wear sun glasses and tape to the lower lid ..I have a suspicion it is ectropion but I am no doctor and I have no insurance and must wait and save for surgery ...what options do I have for pain ?any advice is greatly appreciated...also I worry of permanent damage if I have to wait please share your thoughts

It appears that you have some laxity of the lateral aspect of your eyelids. You may also have some issues with drainage of your tear ducts. A visit with an ophthalmologist/occuloplasti surgeon is recommended.

Thank you for your question. Even if you have no insurance, you should still be examined by an Ophthalmologist or an Oculoplastc surgeon for an accurate diagnosis. You shouldn't try to diagnose yourself. There are may possible causes for your symptoms. Surgery may not be necessary, but an exam is. Please call and make an appointment to see someone soon.
