Hello! I have a small diastasis recti (1 finger) moslty on the upper part of my belly button. I have been working to close it as much as I can, my muscle under are good. But I like to have Coolsculting is it a contrindication? If it is contrindicated is it because of the increase of chance to separated the diastasis or for the risque of hernia?
Answer: Cool Sculpting Question It's not a contraindication necessarily but make sure you go a BC PS office for your consult. I'm not convinced you'd be that happy with cool sculpting based on the abdomen photo you submitted. I would seek a surgical opinion and if you desire non surgical options only that's one thing, but best results for you would most likely be surgery. Best of Luck.

Answer: Coolsculpting and diastasis recti In the right patients, Coolsculpting can offer great results. Having a diastasis recti is not a contraindication to Coolsculpting, although Coolsculpting only addresses subcutaneous fat deposits and will not repair the diastasis (only surgery can do that). However, caution should be exercised if performing Coolsculpting when a hernia is present. It appears from your photo you may have a small hernia at the site of your belly button and this should properly be evaluated.A visit to a plastic surgeon's office will help you to understand if you're a candidate for Coolsculpting, and what aesthetic outcomes are realistic in your particular case. In order to get a qualified, ethical, and expert opinion on your surgical options and expectations, schedule an in-person office consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Answer: Coolsculpting; it's all in the evaluation Coolsculpting for fat reduction in the abdomen and flanks is a very effective and reliable treatment. Certainly care should be taken during evaluation process to avoid treatment across an area where there is a known hernia. Rectus diastases is however a separation of the rectus muscles with intact rectus fascia. Look for treatment at a center that can offer a comprehensive evaluation.
