Is it normal to have diarrhea after CoolSculpting?

Question

I am almost 3 weeks out since my coolsculpting treatment on my lower abdomen and love handles. The last 3 days I have had moderate/severe diarrhea. Would it be ok to take something for the diarrhea? I'm afraid that could impact the results, but I'm also concerned that I'm going to the bathroom this much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Your GI experience 3 weeks following cool sculpting is most likely not related. I would seek a visit with your family doctor if it doesn't cease soon. If you took something for your symptoms it would not affect your cool sculpting results.

Your diarrhea is likely not related to the CoolSculpting procedure. You can take medication as recommended by your primary care physician to treat your diarrhea. I hope you feel better soon.

Change in bowls can happen within the first two weeks after treatment. I recommend that you see you primary physician for an evaluation and treatment. I hope you feel better soon!

Hi wiss1234, thank you for your question. Our experience is that diarrhea is not generally a common reaction to having CoolSculpting.  There have been a couple of times that patients have mentioned that they had diarrhea post CoolSculpting in the first week after treating the lower abdomen.  Some patients have more sensitive intestinal tracts. What I can tell you for certain is that taking medication for your diarrhea will not inhibit your results in the slightest.  If your diarrhea persists, I would highly recommend setting an appointment with your physician for an evaluation. Good luck with your CoolSculpting.  I hope your results are amazing!

Thank you for your question. Change in bowel habits may happen following Coolsculping treatments at the abdomen. They tend to occur within the first two weeks. Your symptoms are likely unrelated to Coolsculpting since you are 3 weeks post Coolsculpting treatments.
