diabetes doesn't stop you from having liposuction and neither does age you just need to get medical clearance also small areas can be done awake safely. Come see us! Best, Dr. Emer.
Dear trgug133213,as long as you are healthy, your age should not be an issue. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The general health of a patient must always be factored in when considering an elective procedure. The question is always whether or not the benefits outweigh the risks. This is something that the surgeon needs to determine after a detailed evaluation of the patient. If it is determined that the patient will benefit from a liposuction procedure, sometimes modifications can be done to mitigate the risks. For example smaller areas done under local anesthesia in a staged manner might benefit the patient. Certainly the diabetes needs to be managed well. It really comes down to evaluating each patient on a case by case basis. Best wishes.
If your primary physician gives approval for elective surgery and your A!C is below 6.7, then you might be a candidate. Please discuss this with your physician first.
Thank you for posting your interesting question. It is possible for you to have liposuction, but you will have to be examined by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced with liposuction and obtain pre operative medical clearance. Obviously, your goals must be clear with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon before your liposuction surgery. Best wishes, Richard Wellington Swift. M.D., F.A.C.S.
Most likely you’re not a good candidate for a liposuction. I say this because as patients get older they typically have poor skin elasticity and men especially men with diabetes tend to have access visceral fat which is not treated with surgery as the primary problem. If you want to make an assessment you’ll need to post pictures or have a few in person consultations. You’ll also definitely need to check with your primary care doctor to see if they want to give you medical clearance.I would personally be reluctant to offer you liposuction but there may be some willing to do it for you.Perhaps changing your diet is more in line with what you need.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Usually older men with type 2 diabetes suffer from internal fat, meaning fat around the organs below the muscle layer. When you pinch your abdomen if there are several inches of fat between your fingers then this would represent external fat and yes, liposuction may help in the hands of a careful well trained surgeon. If there is only a thin fat layer then you have internal fat and liposuction would not help. Make an appointment with a local board certified plastic surgeon for an opinion.
We would do a cardiology clearance. you can do small areas like the lower stomach awake but if larger areas I would suggest asleep and be sure to do with internal heating like renuvion. my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not...
Liposuction of the pubic area can be performed alone or in conjunction with other areas. Liposuction of the mons pubis is very effective for removing fat and flattening that area. Liposuction is never a treatment for skin laxity.
Skin laxity does not magically end with the TT in many patients. Sometimes, this redundancy or puckering of the tissues at the ends of the incisions creates this appearance. The incision will have to be extended toward the back to remove this. Wait six months after TT before undergoing the dog...
Your only real option is micro lipo with facetite RF under local. It is so dramatic and easy with only 1 day downtime. Don't waste money on worthless kybella.
Dear platerjada, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member,...
The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal...
