Stupid me has picked at it so the center is red but it's gotten darker and I'm unsure if I should have it checked out. It is on my leg and is a couple mm wide.

This is difficult to answer without pictures. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with lasers, radiowave or shave. I recommend Silagen gel + Bioshield for 6 weeks to help promote healing. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
