I had two moles removed next to my belly button a week ago. They were removed using a shave extraction because he said they looked atypical. He did mention during it that one was deeper than he expected. He had to cauterize it. On that one, it has a dark spot that looks like the mole is still completely there. Is that from the cauterizing or is there still mole left? I haven't gotten my results back. These moles showed up about 5 years ago and started changing 1 year ago while I was pregnant.

This could represent a mole recurrence or scar formation. Apply Plato's Scar Serum + Spectrase SPF 30 to the area and observe for a few weeks pending the biopsy. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
