Answer: No easy answer Hi Lost Gypsy,Sorry to hear about your situation! Unfortunately complications and unexpected outcomes can happen with any surgery, cosmetic or otherwise. It sounds like you have very legitimate concerns about your results. I discuss with every patient the expected outcome and also say there is no guarantee as to any specific result. Having said that I would definitely return to your original surgeon and be very frank and honest about your frustrations. You need to convey what you expected and where things in your eyes fell short. As a cosmetic surgeon I want every patient to be happy with their results....because their results is my reputation. I think and hope most surgeons feel that way. I'm sure they will work with you. It would be in your best interest because if you see a new surgeon they will have to treat you as a 'new patient' from a cost perspective, whereas for the original surgeon this would be a 'revision'. Revisional surgery should be much less expensive. If they don't then it sounds like you already have seen other surgeons that can help you. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: Difficult Conversations Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are dealing with residual pain and complications after your procedure. First step would be to look back on the consents you signed at pre-op. All problems you describe are possible complications to your procedures. Once you have done this, also see if you signed a document describing revision and the process your plastic surgeon's office proceeds with. In some cases, the surgeons fees may be waived to perform revision surgery, but you will be responsible for OR fees and anesthesia. You get more with honey than you do with vinegar. But during your next appointment you should be candid and honest about your experience.

Answer: Communication Each surgeon and practice will have their own policies on refunds and revisions. I encourage you to discuss your concerns openly with your surgeon and request what you would like to see happen. If you cannot find common ground you will need to reach out to another surgeon for revisions.

Answer: Diastasis recti repair problem Dear Lost Gypsy, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
