Plastic Surgeon or Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon for genioplasty? (Photo)

Thank you for your picture and your question. People who have mentalis strain typically have excess vertical component to their chin or recessive component to their chin and/or lower jaw. Occasionally, this can be addressed only with genioplasty, but in my expert opinion as a fully trained, Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon and as a fully trained Plastic Surgeon, this may need to be addressed in your upper jaw, lower jaw and Chin.
It probably is best to start with an evaluation from an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to make sure that there are no skeletal discrepancies that mandate treatment of your upper lower jaw and chin. If that can be excluded and a chin surgery, i.e. sliding genioplasty can improve your aesthetics and help your function then it really is up to you whether you choose a Plastic Surgeon or an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. In that situation, you will inevitability choose a surgeon that you ultimately trust their judgment, skill and expertise.

it is difficult to give you advice with one photo. It does not appear that you have a weak chin but there is some fatty tissue below the chin that can be improved with jawline and submental liposuction. You should go for a Facetime or in-office visit.
