I have so much movement in my chin and it is getting worse with age. I have begun to notice strain in my neck when speaking as well & my lips move a bit unevenly with certain speech sounds that makes me think there might be an issue with my mentalis muscle. I have have Botox in the past and it only made it more difficult to speak. I feel as if there may be an issue with my chin and I might need more support in that area. Am I looking at needing a sliding genioplasty?

Answer: Orland, Max, Plastic Surgeon , or Plastic Surgeon : the great debate
Yes, V-line surgery and genioplasty are often performed at the same time. You would need to find an oral & maxillofacial surgeon or a plastic surgeon who performs this procedure. The chin can be centered with the sliding genioplasty. Jaw slimming and genioplasty are performed in our office with...
A sliding genioplasty will not change your lower lip size. The amount of lower tooth exposure can change if you are having a genioplasty to lengthen the chin. If oy have lip incompetence, this usually improves when the chin is moved forward.
Assuming your teeth fit together well, a sliding genioplasty can work. Or, with less cost, recovery, and hardware, you could get an in office chin implant which would also look fabulous. Total surgery time about 20-30 minutes and you go right home.
