Is it normal to look like this after MACS facelift 2 days ago? (photo)

The first few weeks after any surgical procedure is a very anxious time.  I get asked about the "way things look" in the first week and the most important things I'm looking for are not what patients are looking for; in other words, patients are worried about how they "look," --  my concern is to look for signs of bleeding, infection, and nerve function.  The pull after a facelift will look abnormal for 2-3 weeks.  Things will settle down soon after that.

On the picture you provided, it looks all normal to me. The swelling can cause that pulled look and it should be getting better within the next 2 weeks when the swelling goes down significantly.

Minimal or no hematoma noted in the photo, swelling which is normal. Your face overall looks asymmetrical . You will notice less swelling and the pulled look should decrease.  If you have real concerns my suggestions is to go to a certified plastic  surgeon and discuss your concerns. 

You appear to have no signs of hematoma, significant  swelling, or facial asymmetry.  As you go through the healing process things will settle.  See your surgeon and discuss any of your concerns. 

It is normal to have swelling this early after a facelift.  The swelling can certainly lead to a pulled or distorted look.  I tell my patients that it may persist for 1-2 weeks and to be prepared.  Things should continually look better as your swelling subsides. 

Thanks for your question. I'm not seeing any glaring problems on this limited photograph. And yes, at only two days you can definitely have a pulled appearance. This tends to look much better by one week. I'd see your surgeon if you're having other symptoms or concerns. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question and the photo. It is normal for the swelling after this type of surgery to distort your face a little, it will settle over the next couple of weeks. If you have any concerns at all do go back and see your plastic surgeon.
