Do I Need to Shave my Small Beard Before Getting a Micro Peel or Chemical Peel?

I would suggest shaving a day or two prior to having a chemical peel.  If you shave just a few hours prior to a peel, the skin may be too raw and become excessively irritated.  If you do not shave have still have whiskers when you have the peel, the treatment may not be as effective in those areas.

If one's beard is short one could get a chemical peel without shaving it off.  If you were to shave before a chemical peel, however, I would recommend doing so 2-3 days prior to avoid skin irritation.  Good luck!

Thank you for your question. I would recommend shaving a day or two prior to your treatment, this will give the follicles time to close up so they wont be so sensitive. If you don't want to shave, your provider will just avoid the area. If you are going in for this type of exfoliation treatment it is best to have your full face treated. Make sure to wear sunscreen following your treatment and follow your post care instructions for the best results.
