So worried about potential health implications now my implant is ruptured?

I am worrying myself sick over my ruptured silicone implant. An ultrasound showed some intracapsular leaking. They are 14 years old. My plan is to have both implants removed and not replaced but I have recently found out i’m pregnant so won’t be able to have surgery for quite a while. I’ve been told it isn’t urgent and can wait but I keep reading about silicone migrating to the lymph nodes or elsewhere. How likely is this to happen and what would be the implications to my health?

intarcapsular rupture usually means that although the shell of the implant has an opening your body has encapsulated the implant so it does not communicate with the external environment. that way there is not systemic reaction as the content of the implant stays within the capsule. yes to having them removed or replaced but not as an emergency

Since the rupture is intracapsular, there is a low risk of migration of silicone. There are no significant acute effects of this rupture to your body. Just be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions throughout to avoid further rupture.

The advice is usually to remove the ruptured implant as soon as you are diagnosed. But also a lot of women have silent rupture implant with no general health risks. The fact that you are pregnant and you have an intracapsular rupture, I think you could wait until it is the right time to have something done to your implant.

I'm sorry to hear that your implant has ruptured.  As long as the silicone is contained inside the capsule, that is it is intracapsular, there is little risk of leakage or migrating outside the capsule. Try not to worry, based on the finding that the silicone is intracapsular I do not think you will have a problem. consult your obstetrician  about the timing for removal of ear implants.

Consult with your plastic surgeon.  On average, it is fine to wait for the explant.  I would have them removed as soon as your GYN gave you medical clearance.
