I did botox on April 5th, I woke up on April 10th like this and I got panicked. This is my 3rd time that I am doing treatment and first time that something like this happened. Than I did research and I saw why that happened. I think that doctor put too much on my right side, above the eyebrow. Eye drop happened 5 days after botox is injected. I am attaching the picture and I would be grateful if you can give me an advise. Thank you in advance for your reply.
Answer: Botox Hi There Thank you for your question and photograph. It is not that the dose was too high above your right brow but injected perhaps 1-2mm too low. The other possible cause of this complication is attempting a chemical browlift that seems to have worked on the left side.Iopodine is the way to go but don't worry too much - aside from the occasional silly comments from some of those around you this will be more inconvenient that anything else.Good LuckKind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics

Answer: Ptosis due to Botox injection I am very sorry to hear of your misfortune. One of the unfortunate side effects of Botox ®, or other forms of botulinum toxin into the upper third of the face is ptosis or lid droop. This is a result of the migration of Botox ® to the levator palpebrae superioris muscle, that is the muscle that is primarily responsible for upper eyelid elevation. Statistically this occurs in 5% of cases. Fortunately, this can be avoided by making the injection at least 1 cm above the orbital rim. Rest assured, this complication is temporary and will go away when the Botox ® wears off. In the meantime, this can be treated by application of eyedrops that stimulates Muller's muscle, an accessory lid elevator, that is sympathetically innervated. One such eyedrop preparation is apraclonidine or lopidineTM. It is essential that your treating physician prescribe the appropriate eyedrops for you based on your personal medical history.

Answer: Treating droopy eyelids after Botox Thank you for your question MarinaLove Life. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. A rare side effect of Botox treatments is droopy eyelids. This can be treated with apraclonidine (iopidine) 0.5% ophthalmic solution 2-3 drops to the affected eye 2-3 times per day. It usually resolves in 1-2 weeks. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: Please go back and see your doctor You are having a clear eyelid ptosis. Thankfully, this effect only lasts about 2-3 months (max 3-4 months). There is an eyedrop that your doctor can write you for that will help readjust things to help your eyes look symmetrical and less dropped. Make sure to let your doctor know. This can occur if botox is injected close to the orbital rim. Sometimes a bit of it can diffuse down and drop the eyelid.
