You can have Botox while on arthritis medication. Be sure to disclose your list of medications to your injector. Botox results last 3-4 months in new areas of treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
You can have botox if you are on arthritis medications. Be sure to bring your full list of meds with you to your appointment. Some medications may cause thinning of the blood which may increase your chance of having a bruise.

Thank you for your question linda stansbridge. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated withfacial expression. It is important to let your doctor know what medications you are taking before a cosmetic treatment. Most medications have no effect on Botox. Certain antibiotics called aminoglycosides may potentiate the effects of Botox. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Absolutely! Medications prescribed for the treatment of arthritis will NOT effect the outcome of your Botox treatment. If you are on nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), they may increase your chance of showing a needle stick or bruise. Please inform your doctor of your medical conditions, allergies and all medications including supplements before having any treatments.
Thank you for your question. Generally speaking, there should be no interactions between Botox and arthritis medications. Some physicians do believe that a common medication for rheumatic arthritis (hydroxychloroquine or Plaquenil) can make Botox less effective, however this is based off a single study carried out in mice several years ago, and likely has no bearing on actual patients. I have treated patients on Plaquenil with Botox, and have not noticed any difference in their results.I would recommend bringing a complete list of your medications with you to review with your physician prior to your Botox treatment. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Your Blepharitis was not caused by Botox injections. Blepharitis is not permanent and should resolve with time. Please remember to follow your treatment recommend by your doctor. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question. Swelling can occur for 1-2 hours after Botox injection. However, this may be due to your microneedling treatment. I recommend following up with your injector for an evaluation and possible treatment. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question. There is contraindication between Augmentin and Botox. Most likely your reaction is due to the Augmentin. Eating more while taking the Augmentin may help, or you may need a new antibiotic. I recommend having a follow up with your doctor. Best of Luck!
