Hi i made the mistake to do a rhinoplasty in Seoul in january and I regretted it so 1 month later I decided to remove everything (silicone implant + cartilage tip). I really wanted my old nose which I did to a certain degree but my old nose was longer and more droppy (which I like) and now my nose is shorter and the nostrils are too visible. It feels like too much cartilage was removed? I want to have a revision rhinoplasty to elongate the tip, can I go back to the same nose, is it realistic?
Answer: Revision rhinoplasty: what you should know Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with your initial rhinoplasty results. Once a full year has passed since your most recent procedure, the concerns you mention can be addressed during revision rhinoplasty. While it may not look exactly like your pre-surgery nose, the tip can be lifted, elongated, and re-defined to create an appearance that is harmonious with the rest of your facial features. When considering revision rhinoplasty, keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, assess your concerns, and determine the best approach to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: It is possible to some extend and it should be necessarily discussed with the doctor. Tip elongation surgery is possible, and length can be extended as much as desired. However, that does not mean that it will become the same as the preoperative original nose. It is impossible. You should aim to be similar. Of course, it's subjective whether the nose before surgery is prettier or whether you should aim for a nose with a different shape, so it's better to discuss it with your doctor before making a decision.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty is typically not considered for returning to a previous nasal appearance. Since you had such severe dissatisfaction after having rhinoplasty in the first place, I would be hesitant advising another surgery based on the pleasing appearance of your nose in your photos. Additionally, elongation of your nasal tip may not look the way you think it should. It's probably best to leave well enough alone. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty to elongate the nose Thank you for your query. Revision rhinoplasty to elongate your nose can be done with the use of cartilage grafts from your ear cartilage, taken from the back of the ear. This should improve your nostril show as well. Please find an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. From the photos it looks like your nostrils are showing too much I totally agree with you. With a revision rhinoplasty the tip can be reshaped to give you the original look you want. But please keep in mind that cartilage reconstruction would be most probably needed in your case. Best regards!
