Hi. There are too many RF treatments and it's very hard for me to decide. Can someone please tell me which one of these RF treatments are best for improving larg pores, acne scars and icepicks caused by acne? Thanks
Answer: Secret RF vs Infini RF Secret is a newer device from Cutera. Both Secret RF and Infini RF are very similar in that they allow for precise depth control of the microneedles. The advantage Secret has however is that there is a variety of tip sizes including a larger body tip. In addition there is the option of both insulated and non insulated tips. The Infini only has insulated which are better for darker skin types but doesn't help as much with more superficial textural changes that a non insulated tip can provide in lighter skinned patients. The last advantage Secret has over Infini is the mechanism of action for the needles entering the skin. The infini doesn't have a step motor like the Secret which makes needle entry into the skin more precise and less painful.

The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Answer: Infini is great for acne scars and skin texture In my practice, I am using the Infini RF device to treat acne scarring and fine lines/crepey skin. This can also be used for some tightening. Infini is great for all patients because it does not rely on light energy, which can be problematic for patients with more skin pigmentation. Treatments are typically performed about 6 weeks apart, and most patients require 3 or 4 sessions. Best of luck moving forward!

The needle is non-insulated and tapered and delivery of energy is in a teardrop distribution that can be adjusted for depth, duration and strength making it adaptable to any part of the body even eyelids and over hair. Coagulation occurs so bleeding is not a significant issue and downtime is virtually none.

It is by far the best treatment for acne scars, large pores and skin tightening with the great advantage of keeping the epidermis safe-- so there is very little risk of hyper- or hypo-pigmentation associated with other treatments. We can control the depth of the treatment, giving the dermis a major remodel (thickening the skin and tightening it) without damaging the epidermis. The epidermis does get the benefits of microneedling-- so the skin texture and tone are improved as well. Infini is the way to go.

The epidermis does get the benefits of microneedling-- so the skin texture and tone are improved as well. Infini is the way to go.
