1 year post op Rhinoplasty, structure has changed , it feels swollen especially around tip. Revision options? (photos)

Had rhinoplasty 1 year ago. I had a decent nose prior. No issues with breathing or anything of that nature . Most of the work was done on my tip, nothing on top of the nose . My nose has been different since the , the structure has changed , it feels swollen especially around tip, boulky / fatter than before . Plus the tip has a droppy look which I didn’t have before . What could have gone wrong ?

Unfortunately some patients form excessive scar tissue after surgery causing the tip to look swollen.  The forces of healing can also pull the tip down.  At this point revision surgery with careful attention to removal of scar tissue as well as increasing support with cartilage grafts and reshaping tne tip cartilages can be versuccessful if done meticulously supplemented with steroid injections multiple times in the postoperative period.

Hi, thank you for the question. In general, mostly, we get good results (patients are quite happy). Sometimes, during surgery, we -as the surgeons-think that they are the right steps/procedures for the nose. But, appearence/result may differ..(general condition, fibrosis/scarring/reaction of tissues, too much conservative approach/or too radical/traumatic app etc..) The skin and subskin tissues may also make a strong negative effect..(showing the new framework?).. Many factors are related with final results. Do not worry. Speak to your surgeon first.
