How long does the procedure usually take I just got my braces off but I hate the color of my teeth love the shape but they are way to sensitive to whiten I was wondering if I have another option or if veneers are the way to go and how long will I be in the chair if I get all of them
Answer: Veneer procedure Hi:Depending on how many veneers you would like to get you can be in the chair anywhere from 2-4 hours on the initial appointment and you can get your veneers cemented in 7-10 days later which may require an additional 1-2 hours of chair time.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Answer: Sensitive teeth Thank you for posting your question. My concern for you is finding the root cause of sensitivity. Teeth may look straight but how they meet each other is just as important. When teeth do not meet in harmony they can rub against each other in normal eating and chewing. As a result you may be clenching and or grinding your teeth to help find a harmonious position. This situation can contribute to sensitive teeth. If there is an underlying bite issue that is not addressed then you may have sensitivity even after the veneers are placed. You can have a dentist with advanced training in Occlusion check your bite relationship. You can find a Pankey trained dentist in your area. Once the sensitivity issue is addressed then you may be able to whiten your teeth since the shape is not the problem. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Answer: Veneer procedure In my office you would be a no-preparation or minimal preparation veneer case with Lumineers or eMax porcelain. It would take two appointments approximately two weeks apart for you to have your new smile. The first appointment is 1-2 hours and so is the second appointment.Since I would not be removing any enamel or only preparing a very small amount of enamel, you would not need any temporaries and you would not have any additional sensitivity. Once bonded, the veneers should eliminate the sensitivity you mentioned.Doug Jopling, DDS

Answer: How long is the veneer procedure? First appointment is fairly short (about 15-30 mins) to take preliminary records. Second appointment is about two hours (depends on number of veneers), and finally third visit is 1-2 hours for final cementation.

Answer: Treatment time for veneers Dear Michelle, If I were to prepare eight teeth for veneers, make a scan for my laboratory and place provisional coverage, the appointment would take two hours. A laboratory would then make the veneers from replicas of your teeth generated from the scan and send them to me. You would then return one to two weeks later for a second visit of one hour where I would remove the provisional veneers and bond the final ones. Veneers look fantastic and are very durable. If you are changing the color then you have to treat at least eight teeth and probably ten. Dr. Neal
