What is the difference between composite bonding and composite veneers?

Composite veneers cover the entire surface of the fronting and edge of your teeth.  These can be done free hand directly built up on your teeth in Office or more precisely lab fabricated as one unit per tooth. “bonding” typically only adds to a part of your teeth free handed directly in Office.  This allows for a demarcation between the natural tooth and bonded aspect of tooth on the front visible facing of the tooth over time.  A more cosmetic and long term option would be porcelain or ceramic veneers. As these have greater aesthetic value in shape, color and stability. 

The real question is a matter of direct vs indirect.  Something bonded on the first visit, or something bonded after impressions and a lab creating the restoration.  Both may work, but if adding JUST the tip of tooth, the material will not stay put.  Indirect is better, but the overall look and durability is best with porcelain, not composite.  I personally would not suggest composite

Hi:In terms of the material they are both the same.  However, composite veneer covers the entire surface of the tooth but bonding normally covers part of the tooth.  Since you want to add length to your teeth, composite veneer is the way to go, however, since composite is not a strong material at some point you should consider porcelain veneers for best result.Best,Dr. Maddahi
