It is always a good idea to contact your provider to ensure that you are not facing issues outside of the normal healing process.
This laser generates heat on the skin. your physician should have gone through an extensive list of expectations and procedures after that would help improve this. in our practice we have a protocol of skin care and cooling immediately post laser procedure to keep our patients comfortable and it is all explained before the procedure. Itching is a normal response to the healing and can be improved with antihistamines, but you should be seen by your physician to ensure there is no yeast infection. Best, Dr. Emer.
Halo treatments are very comfortable treatments but you will experience 'the burn' once the treatment is complete. This is when the topical anesthesia has worn off but the Halo columns of injury or 'mends' have not closed over yet. We only recommend a pure Hyaluronic Gel for the first 24 hours in order to let the 'mends' seal over. The inflammation that follows can be just warm and tight for some, but for others can become intensely itchy. Please review with your treating office what you are now using. Make sure there is nothing that is overly irritating your skin or possibly causing a mild allergic reaction.
During the peeling process, it is normal to expect some itchiness. You can relieve this with some antihistamine orally or a benadryl spray that you can spritz on the treated areas. If you are noticing spots coming up from the area that wasn't there before, contact your physcian.

Although the majority of your skin is healed at this point, you still have some healing that is taking place and this can often lead to dryness. We recommend a Hydrafacial treatment to all of our Halo patients 2 weeks after surgery to help exfoliate any remaining skin and infuse hydration...
Although the Halo laser is not primarily for skin tightening, many patients do feel and see a tightening effect. The ablative setting of this laser is takes off dead skin and the non-ablative layer stimulates collagen causing a natural tightening effect.
