I just had Halo, and I my skin feels really warm - is this normal?
Answer: The Halo After-burn Everyone feels 'the burn' after a Halo Treatment. Even though Halo is considered a 'cool' laser there is tissue injury in those columns we call 'MENDS'(microscopic endothelial necrotic debris) and there is exposure of deep tissue to surface elements. Both of these cause some inflammation which is felt as heat. Cool spring water misting, pure hyaluronic gels, PRP and lots of cold air from the Zimmer get the heat out and initiate the healing process faster.

Answer: Heat post Halo The feeling of heat radiating from the skin post Halo treatment is considered normal. Most patients will feel an intense sensation of heat for 1-3 hours right after treatment. Over the counter pain relievers can help to reduce discomfort as well as staying cool.

Answer: Warm after HALO Feeling a warm or burning sensation after HALO laser treatment is very common. Immediately after the treatment I apply a cream called KoolDown which contains aloe vera and lidocaine. It burns when first applied but then soothes the skin and patients love it. There are likely other similar creams that can be used. Check with the performing physician about their recommendations. Additionally, some cool compresses to the face can be soothing as well. The burning sensation usually stops after 24-48 hours. I hope you enjoy the results of your HALO treatment.

Answer: Post-Halo Right after the treatment you will feel like you just had a sunburn. We need to induce a thermal injury for the skin to respond by making new skin. This is a normal expectation and the feeling will subside in 2-3 hours. If it is too discomforting you can take Tylenol extra strength.
