I'm interested in Emsculpt for the belly area but not sure if it will work on me (see photos). I am 5' tall & 120 lbs (BMI of 23.5) - most of my excess weight is stored in the belly area. I have struggled to lose weight & recent metabolism testing shows that my RMR is only 1080 cals a day (18% lower than avg). I was told the only way to increase metabolism is to build muscle. I switched from cardio to strength training, but was hoping Emsculpt could help jumpstart my metabolism with muscle.
Answer: Emsculpt to reduce fat and build muscle? Hello al109:Although Emsculpt and CoolSculpting will reduce fat and strengthen and increase your abdominal muscles, you will see your results more clearly if you have the treatments after you lose perhaps 10 lbs. Adding strength training is a good idea, as is intermittent fasting. If you decide to proceed, you will still get results and there is a rationale for jump starting your metabolism. In fact, studies have shown that visceral fat (inside the abdominal cavity) is reduced by Emsculpt as well.Sheryl Clark MD

Answer: Liposuction Candidate -- VASER HI DEF Liposculpture, ThermiRF, Fat Grafting, Renuvion, Inmode BodyTite, See an Expert You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HI-DEF VASER Liposuction and can only be done by a well-trained body contouring specialist. At the same time, fat should be harvested and purified, with PRP and stem cells added, and then injected into muscles, indentations and cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. For a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), we inject the fat into the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with a combination of Cellfina, subcision, and/or fillers such as Bellafill, Renuva synthetic fat, or Sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery, then it will need to be removed: tummy tuck/abdominoplasty for lower abdominal skin; breast lift for excess breast skin; and/or a brachioplasty for loose arm skin.Overall, you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Emsculpt for Belly Area Thank you for your question and posting your pictures. If you are looking to stay away from an invasive procedure such as liposuction, I would recommend the combination of CoolSculpting or Vanquish Me with Emsculpt. All 3 of these procedures contribute to fat destruction and Emsculpt will serve to build the abdominal muscles.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Answer: Being a good candidate In your case I think you’re fat layers will hide the results and you will find it to be a waste of money. Considering the results are relatively subtle and show best on those who have exposed muscles this is probably not the best option. It’s also a temporary result so for those who are good candidates and can afford maintaining these treatments it’s worthwhile trying out.You are a great candidate for Liposuction if that’s something you would consider but obviously the primary problem is too much body fat so weight loss is going to be the best recommendation.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
