I had Botox and lip injections. I left $100 tip, the lady asked if it was for Aesthetician or Injector Dr. Do Dr.'s take tips?

Question

I have had several services at this medical spa, facials, microderm, Botox and others. I have always left a tip but never imagined it my go to the Dr. Am I wrong? should I tip the Dr/ injector? It seems like the aesthetician/assistant does everything but the injection. He does a wonderful job but I have never thought of tipping him or the RN Injector. I send my friends there also what do I tell them about tipping so they don't feel the same awkwardness? Thank you

Each practice will be different, but most Doctor's won't accept tips, but tips can be given to aestheticians. Best, Dr. Emer

Great question. At our practice the physicians don't expect a tip and we don't accept the tips either. The aestheticians are tipped if they do a good job and that's pretty much normal all over the country to tip aestheticians if some likes to.

In our practice, I perform all injectable procedures, and tipping would be unnecessary, unexpected, and not accepted. After performing relaxing HydraFacials, our aesthetician has received tips graciously for jobs well done! Hope this helps, and thank you for your generous question! Dr Joseph

I don't take tips. I don't think most doctors do, but situations vary if they only work part time or are slowing the practice down. I suggest you clarify this situation next time you go in. Patients drop off "gifts" for me in appreciation like wine, cookies, ties, etc... All the time.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

There is no tipping of doctors or nurses at Med Spa. I think most places don't tip medical aesthetitians or medical assistants as well. So you can feel well. Writing a review would be the best tip you can leave if you are satisfied with their service.
