After a breast reduction, how long will it take for my breasts to drop and not be so perky? (Photo)

Thank you for your question.I get the question of relaxing/dropping/softening often after a breast reduction procedure.  Because everybody heals at different rates, I typically say 3-6 months.  You can evaluate the final size at that point as well.  The scars themselves may mature over the course of a year, and may stay red longer for you than most people due to your skin tone and hair color.  I hope the surgery alleviates some of the issues you were having beforehand.  My breast reduction patients are usually the happiest ones in my practice.  Congratulations on having the procedure done.

It can take anywhere from 3-6 months for your breasts to fully heal and drop/settle although your scars will continue to improve for about a year. Hope this helps -- Dr. Nazarian
