I am 4 1/2 weeks post surgical. At week 1, I noticed my left nipple was low, and looked as if it was in the wrong place. My doctor said it could be inflammation and to wait. Last week she said she didn't know what happened and I would need revision surgery at some point if it didn't resolve itself in a few weeks. The right nipple also looks like it's too far to the right. Is this common or if I should be concerned that the surgeon did something incorrectly? Would I be financially responsible??

Answer: Big issues I have some major concerns about your surgery. The amount of asymmetry is a big problem. I am just as concerned as the incision placement on the right breast. Your transverse incision is no where near your breast fold and is halfway up on your breast. The measurements of the distance from your nipples to your sternal notch are entirely different and should not be this far off. This isn't a forum to criticize other surgeons, but I would definitely seek opinions with board certified plastic surgeons and go let them examine you. Granted, we do not have the luxury of seeing your pre-operative photos which may explain some of the issues you are having, but a lot of technical things are askew here. Are implants involved?

Answer: Asymmetry It would be interesting to see the preop photos, but there is significant asymmetry which will likely not improve with time. Ultimately you probably will need a revision if possibly.
