I’m confused about this filler as it sounds like you have an injection then see results 2 months later. Can someone please describe how this filler works + list all risks if I had this to help hollow temples + zygoma area? Thanks!

Answer: Sculptra action and risks Hi jelllyb! The temple area is no different than any other area (face, neck, decolletage, arms, hands, thighs, buttocks, etc) that Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid, PLLA suspension) is injected for neogenesis (new tissue formation) and its firming / tightening characteristics. Normal soft tissue healing requires 4 phases of repair: 1: blood clotting. 2: inflammation. 3: fibroplasia. 4. remodeling. PLLA induces at least phases 3 and 4.The side-effects and complications to consider include:Swelling and bruising, pain/tenderness.A hematoma or extensive bruising .An intravascular injection with acute tissue necrosis/injury.Lumpiness and warmth.Infection.Spicule, granule and nodule formation. This is complicated stuff and not for the inexperienced injector. Please consult with a experienced and talented, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate whether this is the best option for you. Form more information, please link below and search jelllyb. All the best!

Answer: Sculptra in Temples Thank you for the question! Sculptra is my preferred treatment for correcting volume loss in the temples. Sculptra is unique from HA gel fillers in that it is a tissue stimulator; Sculptra will stimulate the fibroblasts in the skin to produce collagen in the treated area. Sculptra will stimulate your body to produce collagen, which is why it takes approximately 4-6 weeks to see a result. Patients should may need multiple vials depending on the degree of volume loss and how your body responds to treatment. The results from Sculptra will last approximately 2-3 years once desired volume is achieved. Common side effects are bruising and swelling in the treatment area. Please consult with your board-certified dermatologist for more information.
