Both Juvederm and Restylane are Hyaluronic Acid fillers. The difference is in the manufacturing and cross-linking process of the HA. Either product is great for lips. Since Kysse is newer product to the market, injectors are trying it to see how it works. From what we are seeing and hearing in the industry from peers so far is that Kysse doesn't do as well combined with other fillers in the lips. So, it's best for "virgin" lips or for lips that have only been injected with Kysse previously.
Hello,Good question. As you may have already realized, most injectors are loyal to a line of products that they are most familiar with. For the most part, gel fillers (ex: Kysse/Juvederm, Restylane etc) are in the same family and are closely related to how they perform. The difference with Restylane KYSSE is that it was FDA approved for the lips with up to a one year duration. The key words are, "up to one year." The most common concern among lip filler injection patients is the lack of duration. Kysse uses a newer gel technology that flexes and moves in a more natural way but maintaining a longer benefit. In our experience, our patients have achieved a longer duration but not up to the one year mark as hoped for. Regardless, they appreciate the type of gel and the more natural feel to it. Ultimately, the technique and skill of the injector will trump which gel filler is used.Regards
Juvederm Ultra and Restylane Kysse are both HA fillers that can be good choices for lip augmentation. Juvederm is firmer, making it better for lips that need more filling. Kysse is specifically designed to produce a natural look and feel to the lips. In the hands of an experienced, qualified injector, either filler will produce very nice results. I would look more at the expertise of the injector than the actual product used if you want to ensure an optimal outcome.
Fillers come in different densities. The more "liquid" or low-densities fillers are intended for more superficial injections. So Restylane Kysse, a newer filler more specific to lips, allows a physician to inject in that area with more ease of movement and also less chance of seeing the filler.HOWEVER....Lip injections are often only part of the field area that requires attention. If you are younger with genetically smaller lips, then a filler in the lip area alone may be sufficient. But if you're looking for re-establishing lip volume due to age, then the area surround the lip will need some re-volumizing as well. That's where other fillers like Juvederm Ultra come into play.A skilled injector can explain fully why you would need one, two, or even three different fillers in the mouth area to achieve the best aesthetic improvements while still looking natural and avoiding the dreaded "stuck on" look that you see sometimes.I encourage my patients to self-educate as well. There are many established fillers and new ones as well. Understanding the basics of the differences is very helpful when you start thinking about adding fillers to your beauty goals.
Dear brittany122,I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times. For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years. In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The two products are both used for lip augmentation and can give you nice results. The correct filler depends on your particular goals for treatment. Restylane Kysse will give a more subtle, refined enhancement than Juvederm Ultra. However if you are looking for a more noticeable augmentation you may prefer Ultra. Your injector will help you select the correct filler for you.
all the fillers have different looks. it depends on the look you want. I suggest going to an expert. I would use daily hydration and plumping (see emeragecosmetics.com lip essentials kit). everyone can do a little filler when done well really gives nice hydration and plumping. Best, Dr. Emer.
The differences are the companies that manufacturer the products. Majority of fillers contain Hyaluronic acid. The restalyne kysse is manufactured by galderma and is crosslinked with a BDDE ingredient that is thought to "last longer" and give more flexibility to the movement of the lips.Juvaderm Ultra is manufactured by Allergen and patients tend to get a more stiffer lip. If there is left over ingredients in the syringe it can also be used on the nasolabial folds where Kysse is only FDA approved for the lips.Hopes this helps.
Some people respond better to one or the other but ultimately they are both in the same category. I would try whichever one your doctor recommends and try the other one the second time around and see which one you prefer. Overall any hyaluronic acid should give you your desired result if injected properly.
Both are hyaluronic acids, and can be used safely in the lips. Kysse is softer, and is newer in the US.Juvederm I feel causes a bit more fullness and this needs to be taken in to account as to what you are looking for. There are some nice new techniques that can be done with Kysse, which can give you more "red" lip without producing as much "bulk". Kysse was developed with the lips in mind. Juvederm also has a lip product, called Volbella. Your injector should have a good working knowledge of what you want and what their available fillers can do.
