Chin implant is too high, needs a revision. Will I need the implant removed and have to wait to have another placed? (Photo)

Some reasons for revising chin implant surgery are -

If you want a different shape to your chin, your surgeon may exchange implants, and try to fixate the new implant lower. if you decide on sliding genioplasty, which has benefits, then the implant can be removed and genioplasty performed on the same setting. It takes 1 hour for the surgery and you go home same day. 

We don't have adequate facial photos to give you recommendations, but the side scan indicates a normal male bone shape and projection so we would probably recommend against a chin implant. It is obvious the implant is not in the optimal position and should be removed. You might want to look at simply using fillers or fat transfers to give a wider look in the prejowl area or go back to the Mittleman implant you mentioned. But at this point I would say take out the implant and let things heal for several months before proceeding with any of these options. Any experienced plastic surgeon can do the removal for you. 

You certainly can 'reposition it' and perhaps 'screw it' into the right level for your facial contours. The xray image also shows the implant adjacent to the nerve to the lower lip/sensory nerve. Having the revision you prefer sooner rather than later could avoid further concerns about the nerve.
