Is it safe to get Botox underneath my eyes in the inner corner to stop that pull? (Photo)

Question

I’m 35, and have developed quite bad under eye fine lines from the inner corner. You can quite literally see this muscle contracting and releasing when I look in the mirror. I am very sensitive to light and I think I have an overactive squinting problem which is causing these wrinkles. Is it safe to get half a unit or a full unit in the corner to relax that muscle? I read Botox should never be done underneath the eyes, but if it’s just a very small amount and very superficial will this be ok?

Hello, Miss_kiki90 and thank you for your question. This issue is very common, and while it may not be possible to eliminate all of the wrinkling underneath the eyes, we can certainly try! A small dose in 1-2 places in that muscle could do the trick. That being said, it is important to find a highly skilled and experienced injector for these injections (and all others!) as not everyone can safely do this. Best of luck in your search! Hi, thank you for your question and for sharing your photo. Botox in the inner corner of the eye can sometimes help relax small muscles that cause pulling or tension, but this area is very delicate. The skin is thin, and the muscles around the eye are small and closely connected to important structures, so placement needs to be extremely precise.

If injected incorrectly, there is a risk of temporary drooping, asymmetry, or changes in blinking. Many providers prefer using very small, careful doses or exploring alternative treatments, like addressing tension through surrounding muscles, before injecting directly into the inner corner.

So while it can be done safely by an experienced injector, it’s important to be cautious and conservative with this area to avoid unwanted side effects.

I usually put 1-2u of botox for these and works great. You should also be on a good skin regimen . Laser resurfacing would also help you

Botox under the eye can be tricky as it can lead to unwanted effects.  You can address fine lines and crepey skin through other treatments such as Morpeus8.  We also recommend using medical grade skin care products and wearing sunscreen every day.
