Rhinoplasty on ethnic people: can I achieve a good result from liquid rhinoplasty? (photos)

Question

Hi. I feel my nose is too big and would like it to be smaller however I’m scared to get rhinoplasty due to poor results I’ve seen in black people especially due to the structure of our noses. I would like the bridge of my nose to be more narrow and the tip to be smaller and my nostrils made smaller. I have included pictures, what would you recommend? Also, can I achieve a good result from liquid rhinoplasty? Thank you.

Hello you can have second surgery and also your nose will not get too small and narrow because of your skin and structure.

Based on your photos, it does appear that a rhinoplasty would make a nice change to your overall appearance. While there are a variety of approaches and techniques employed by various surgeons, it is up to you to do your due diligence to find a rhinoplasty specialist in order to achieve the best results possible. If surgery is not an option for you, nonsurgical rhinoplasty can be used to reshape the nose by adding volume to the nose with dermal filler. The limitation with nonsurgical rhinoplasty is that it can only add volume, but can not take any away. Some mild refinement of the tip may also be possible, depending on the thickness and elasticity of your tip skin. For significant tip refinement, surgical rhinoplasty would be necessary. This approach focuses on making subtle improvements to the nasal bridge, tip, and nostrils while preserving the ethnic integrity of your nose. When meeting with surgeons, ask if they have a portfolio of previous ethnic rhinoplasties they’ve performed to make sure their past work meets your expectations. I would also ask if they offer digital photography, so you can see your expected results. Best of luck.

African american rhinoplasty typically involves 4 different components. Some patients need them all, some only one or two. Here are the 4 components.
1.  Improvement of the bridge height with an implant.
2. Narrowing of the wide upper nose (bony part) with osteotomies.
3. Narrowing of the tip (Tip-plasty)
4. Narrowing of the nostrils (Alarplasty)
You will need number 2, 3 and 4.
