I recommend my patients before surgery not to smoke at least 15 days before surgery, to avoid excessive food and alcoholic beverages, not to take medications with anticoagulant effects a couple of weeks before surgery. When I performa rhinoplasty I use a close technique, that means that the stitches go inside the nose, there might be a difference there. Best wishes!
