Does midline corset platysmaplasty limit the vertical lift of the jawline?

Hi I had a temporal lift with a deep plane face and necklift but i feel my chin and pre jowl area looks wider from front view I not sure if it’s because the midline corset limits the vertical lift of the jaw and chin area and also the surgeon performed the necklift before the upper face can doing it in that order further limit the vertical lift? I feel like my chin looks abit boxy but with a vertical lift it should have looked narrower?

The order of the procedure is extremely important.When performing a face and neck lift, the facial SMAS should be properly fixated before proceeding with corset platysmaplasty sutures.
That’s why world-renowned facelift surgeons typically move back and forth between the face and neck during surgery to ensure the optimal vector and tension.

May I ask how long it has been since your surgery?
The midline corset works in the neck plane (under the chin) and tightens horizontally and centrally. It doesn’t directly restrict vertical lift of the lower face or chin bone. Vertical changes in the lower face are more determined by the vectors of the facelift, not the neck muscle tightening. So it depends on the direction and technique that the surgeon performed to you. However, once the neck tissues are tightened and fixed centrally, it can limit how much skin and soft tissue can be lifted upward later. Technically, in my experience doing the neck lift first and then the upper/mid face can limit aggressive upward pull at the jawline margin. But the main effect is usually mild.
