Hello, I had an accident where I went over the handlebars of my bike a few years ago, injuring my lip and teeth. I've since had orthodontic treatment but am left with an uneven top lip, affected lip line of top lip and some scarring above the lip. The unevenness of the lip is the bit that bothers me the most and the bit that other people notice the most I think. Looking for perspectives on the best surgical options - I'm not interested in fillers/injectables. Thank you!

Thanks for uploading your photos. Your lips have nice volume and red lip show. If your goal is to define your vermilion border more, I would recommend placing filler to that area. I do not recommend any surgery as you are not a candidate for a lip lift given your lip volume...
Thank you for your questions and your photo. Before undergoing any surgery, you should consider and have a trial of some of the various HA products used for lip augmentation/filler. The Juvederm/Restylane families both have several long lasting products which may help provide you the correction...
It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
