Hi, I’m interested in a lip lift, but have seen a lot of horror stories. Is this typically a risky procedure? I have a attached an image of my lips from the side. I would like my upper lid to be slightly (but not unnaturally) more balanced. I am also having a chin implant. Thanks!
Answer: Lip lift A lip lift required a cut at the nose-face junction. The scar usually heals very well. However, the scar can separate and become large. This may be the horror stories you are referring to. The key to a lip lift is using a long term self dissolving suture in a deep dermal layer. The suture I recommend is PDS that lasts 6 months. This minimizes the scarring effect. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Lip lift risky Hello, as far as I can see from your photos, you are suitable for lip lift. I still need to know if your gums show when you smile. If it does, the lip lift may not be suitable. If you have the lip lift done by a doctor who has experience in this field, you will not encounter any negative situations. The scar of the lip lift also becomes invisible over time. However, here, your skin structure and wound healing will be similar to your other wound healings.

Answer: Is lip lift a risky operation? I have done lip lifts for many years before in became so popular and generally accepted procedure. Having done several hundreds of lip lifts, I must say that this is one of the most satisfying procedures in my long carrier in plastic surgery. The great majority of my patients are ecstatic about their results, because the results have been mostly perfect. There are some patients who had unrealistic expectations about what lip lift could do for them and they were less than hundred percent satisfied. I also noticed that as the procedure became more popular, and were adopted by surgeons with less ability and talent, some people obtained less that favorable results and some bad results. It is supper important that this great procedure be done by the surgeons who offer the most surgical talent and aesthetic sensibility. You want to get the best result that is possible for you. I believe that the procedure is not risky if it is done well and on the right patient.
