What are these lines around my mouth (sure they aren't dimples)? (Photos)

Hi, I’ve had these lines around my mouth as long as I can remember. Can anyone tell me what this is, I’ve never been confident with my smile and overall appearance of this area. I currently have braces to fix my teeth situation however Is there any way to fix this the lines I’m sure that they aren’t dimples ?

I suggest reaching out to an expert for a formal consultation. These do look like dimples, based on the photos. I like to recommend my patients start a combination of facial rejuvenation treatments.

1) Skincare with products and microneedling/PRP
2) PDT Light Therapy a few times per month with growth factors
3) Laser treatments like Clear + Brilliant regularly and others (Fraxel, Moxi, Viva, CO2, Erbium, Halo) a few times per year
4) Sculptra injections a few times per year for collagen production with fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Radiesse, and/or Bellafill
5) Thermage/Ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone-based Instalift threads for lifting
6) Botox every 2 to 3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest

Since this dimpling is seen only when you smile, it appears that some fibers of orbicularis oris muscle are attached to the skin, which results in this dynamic "deformity" when you smile. Injection of Botox may help temporarily; more aggressive approach with release of these attachments with needle tip may be considered. Good luck.

There may be an option to have a small amount of filler placed here which may help. I hope that helps answer your question.
