What kind of nose do I have. From the front it doesn’t look back but it is curved at the side. Especially when I smile. What type of rhinoplasty can I have to improve this please?
Answer: How to straighten the nasal bridge: Know your options Thank you for providing images along with your question. Based on your photos, it appears you have a minor dorsal hump –it’s subtle, that’s why you only see it from your side profile. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can evaluate your nose and profile and recommend the best treatment plan for you. Possible procedures may include using fillers to camouflage the hump or performing a closed rhinoplasty wherein the nasal bone is filed to eliminate the hump. Whichever the technique used, an experienced surgeon will have the skill and aesthetic eye to deliver results that are safe and natural-looking.

Answer: What changes the shape of the dorsal profile? What changes the shape of the dorsal profile? In profile your dorsum has the typical convex shape that is often seen prior to Rhinoplasty. A rhinoplasty reduces the projection of the dorsum and creates a more straight rather than convex shape.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your enquiry and sharing your photographs. In your situation, then nasal tip support is relatively soft and when smiling the tip loses projection and the tip defining points come down slightly. To address these concerns, additional support to the nasal tape either through eight close or open intervention would help. However, if you also want to ensure that the profile contour is straight, a slight reduction of the nasal bridge bump projection may be necessary. Non-surgical techniques can also build protection for the nasal tip and create a straighter profile. This however is the expense of increasing the projection of the nose overall. Because in your situation the chin projection appears to be slightly small (this could also be due to the way that the photo was acquired) it would be preferable to avoid increase in the size of the nose. The best way to evaluate your options would be to see a rhinoplasty surgeon in consultation and assess using computer imaging and simulation the impact of such changes.
