6 months post otoplasty - what is the best way to clean the ears long term?

Had my otoplasty done around 6 months ago. It was the stitch method with an incision behind the ear to address the folds within the ear. My suregon said I can clean my ears which ever way I wish to but there is a small crevice where the scarring is at the back which is hard to clean. Genreally, what is the best method to clean behind the ears after otoplasty long term? Thanks.

At six months, most healed otoplasty incisions can usually be cleaned like normal skin, but the safest routine is gentle rather than aggressive. I would keep it simple: shower water and mild soap, then dry the crease well with a towel corner or a cotton swab used lightly on the surface. Avoid digging, scraping, or using alcohol or peroxide unless your surgeon specifically recommends it.
If the groove traps debris, a small damp cotton swab can help, followed by careful drying so moisture is not held in the scar fold. New pain, redness, drainage, bad odor, or skin breakdown should be checked by your surgeon.
