I recommend you drink plenty of water before and after your surgery. Drinking lots of water will help your body to function better, helping with the recovery process. Most sodas including PepsiMax contain caffeine which may be mildly dehydrating. Good luck.
Hello, and thank you for your question. You might want to avoid soda before rhinoplasty. It is always best to stick with drinking water prior to surgery. In fact, we recommend drinking lots of water because it helps the body function better on a cellular level, helping in the recovery process. Most sodas contain caffeine, which can be mildly dehydrating. However, protocols vary from surgeon to surgeon and will depend on the patient’s particular case. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Your surgeon can discuss all the dos and don’ts before surgery, ensuring you have the smoothest recovery possible. Hope that helps.
Dear signal_local96,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I see absolutely no reason why you can’t! (As long as not 12 hours before surgery as obviously you need to be starved before your general anaesthetic)
For my opinion, you don't recomend the patients to drink acidic drinks such as cola. Because in surgery there is a risk of peptic ulcer. We give routinely anti ulcer treatment for prophlaxy.
