Hi @ssj257! I would recommend IPL for broken capillaries. Approximately 6 sessions is adequate for optimal results! Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Microneedling does not remove broken blood vessels but is intended to improve texture and scarring of the face. There are many different ways of treating broken capillaries on the face:Nd:YAG- remains a gold standard for treating abnormal blood vesselsIPL- The better newer IPL machines are quite effective in treating blood vesselsKTP-can be used to treat blood vessels as wellPulsed-Dye lasers- can create bruising afterwards and has fallen out of favorWith these treatments, patients can respond in 1 to several treatments depending on the type of blood vessel.
Unfortunately, microneedling will not help with broken capillaries. I would suggest meeting with a dermatologist who can properly diagnose what is going on and give you the best next steps for moving forward. It could possibly still mean a facial aesthetic procedure.
There are a few options. The best treatments are vascular lasers such as pulsed dye laser, IPL, yellow laser, or Excel V with microneedling/prp. It may take a series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Good afternoon and thank you for you question! Microneedling will not get rid of broken capillaries on the face due to the fact that microneedling does not recognize any specific chromophores (colors) within the skin. Intense pulsed light (IPL) would be best for red vessels and hyperpigmentation. Microneedling helps with texture, fine lines, acne scarring, and overall skin rejuvenation by creating controlled wounds in the skin which stimulates collagen production. I would suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist to decide which treatment would be best for you. For more information please feel free to look at our website.
Microneedling is a treatment that improves texture (pores, fine lines)- it is not for any "color" issues (brown spots, red capillaries). The good news is that there are many wonderful options to treat those. Best to discuss these in person with a dermatologist who specializes in laser treatments. Be well!
Hello, I would advise seeking out a Dermatologist in your area to properly diagnose these capillaries. Once diagnosed, their office can guide you to a Practitioner who specializes in laser treatment of the broken capillaries that are bothersome to you. There are different types of lasers that will address this condition. You may require more than one treatment initially to achieve the desired result you are looking for as well as maintenance treatments throughout the years. Regards,
Microneedling will not do anything for broken capillaries. The best options depend on the size of the veins or capillaries. If they are very small, then vascular lasers or needle RF is best. If they are larger, then you may need sclerotherapy. or a combination of the above. Sometimes it takes a few treatments to get them all to resolve.Good luck to you,Dr. Powell
