Scar Tethering Fixable? (photo)

Thank you for your question and photos. You are very early in your post operative course. The scars typically look their most red at 4 months and then better at 10 months or so. Most plastic surgeons will wait a year before performing most major scar revisions. Some will move the timeline up, depending on the case. The breasts will go through some changes over the next few months. Please let your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon know your thoughts. They should be able to guide you through the process.

   Implant removal and time will cause some contraction of the envelope and the final scar position will be different.

SInce it is so early since surgery, I would not expect this to be the"final result," and would expect improvement over the course of a few months. If the improvement is not sufficient, a revision operation should be considered to improve the outcome.

Since you are only six days post-surgery, more than likely the scar will improve with time. Follow closely with your surgeon.

You are still very early to judge on the final shape of the breast and final cosmetic result of the scar.

The position of the scar high on the breast can not be changed. The ideal position of the scar for breast augmentation and breast implant removal is right at the inframammary line or the periareolar scars.

You need to wait atleast 6 months to see what is the cosmetic results then get a second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon
