Will Scar on the Lip Affect Lip Augmentation?

Lip scars are fairly common and can be undermined to release the adhesions to free up the area whether you are getting injectable fillers like Restylane or Juvederm for $550 per syringe or you are getting permanent implants at $1500 per lip.

Depending on what kind of results you are looking to achieve, filler may be a good option for you.  It is difficult to accurately recommend treatment for you without an in person consultation.  Several filler products that are used in the lips are Vollure, Volbella, Juvederm Ultra, and Juvederm Ultra Plus.  I offer these so that you can research them ahead of time.
To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.  I hope this helps.

A small scar, even if it is on the border of your lip, should not negatively affect the outcome of a lip augmentation. In fact, I have treated many patients with depressed or irregular scars with hyaluronic acid injections to augment the lip and improve depressions in the scars. If you have healed normally, the scar should be soft by now, and able to be raised with filler.

Thank you for your question. The lips are very forgiving and a lot of people have scars on their lips. Any lip fillers or lip implants should not distort the shape if properly injected by an experienced injector.
