The location of your tattoo and the place where the surgery is performed are important at this point. It would be wrong to say anything about this without consultation. You can get contact with a Board Certified Surgeon to get the information you need.
Thank you for the photo. It may change slightly but there is unlikely to be a great change in its position.Dr. ES
The answer would depend upon the length of scar, the placement of the scar, and the amount of tension placed upon the closure. Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
It's difficult to view your tattoo in your photos because the photo is dark, but, in general, tummy tucks do not change skin position over the rib cage appreciably. However, looking at your photos makes me wonder if you need a full TT. Possibly liposuction and mini-tummy tuck would be sufficient. If so, the recovery time and discomfort would be much less, and much more liposuction could be done on your abdomen. It could also be done under local and tumescent anesthesia rather than general anesthesia.Discuss this with the plastic surgeon of your choice. After a full exam, he or she can tell you which procedure would give you the result that would meet your goals.I hope this information has helped you with your plans for a flatter abdomen.
An abdominoplasty, even a full one, should not alter the appearance of your tattoo. If you choose to have liposuction in that area in addition, the texture may change slightly.
