Microneedling head only had one needle: curious whether the treatment done on me was correct?

Could it even be considered micro needling? A head with only one needle (Nouveau Contour) was used. I felt it singularly pricking my skin on the red hyper pigmented spots and ice pick scars. After, my face was not red/sensitive. She didn't go over my whole face in passes or circular motion, only treated the "problem" areas. But isn't micro needling the whole face, with multiple passes? Is there a name for this type of treatment?
