Should hair grow immediately after hair transplant?

Transplanted hair often does not grow until 3-6 months post-hair transplant. Sometimes, patients think their transplanted short hairs are growing right after surgery, but they actually only appear to grow while your body begins to extrude them/push them out. All the transplanted hairs should initially shed. In addition, shock loss/natural hair can shed in the first 1-3 months (the "ugly duckling" phase), so often patients look worse before they begin to see their transplant results.

Typically the new grafts will shed and go dormant around 45 days and stay in that resting phase for 3 to 4 months. After that, you will see new regrowth slowly all the way to 14 months.
We have noticed that patients that use our LLHT systems will shorten that resting phase considerably.
