I had 2 rhinoplasties and after the second one I feel 2 bumps near middle of nose. I had a large dorsal hump removed. If everything was shaved down perfectly why when I run my fingers down my nose I feel these 2 bumps. They are hard like bone. Is this somewhat common? If you opened my nose up again via an external approach what would it look like. Are they just two bumps? i am getting a third rhinoplasty anyway to fix a columella strut should I address these also? thanks so much docs

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty may be considered for nasal shortening, tip rotation and bump removal.
There is almost always internal nasal swelling after rhinoplasty. There could also be some crusting present. At this point I would not be alarmed, I would discuss any remaining concerns with your surgeon at your post operative appointment.
The columella is made of cartilage. And it's the same cartilage as the cartilage that forms your tip. So you can't just raise the columella without possibly doing something bad (or good!) to the tip of the nose at the same time.See the short attached video for an example of elevating a drooping...
Based on your photos, I share your evaluation and concerns. Yes, in my opinion- your goals are achievable pending physical exam. In order to make a final commitment- a Board Certified PS would require physical exam prior to final comment. But- yes- it can be done in the right hands.
