Rhinoplasty and pregnancy - recommended time to wait after procedure?

Question

If you get rhinoplasty, how long is it recommended to wait to get pregnant after? What happens if you get pregnant 2-4 months after rhinoplasty- will this affect the final results of the nose?

Hello and thank you for your question. It is safe to get pregnant really any time after rhinoplasty. Many of my patients have done this. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

The typical question is how long to wait after pregnancy to have a rhinoplasty, and this is typically one year, since people's noses and faces can sometimes get a bit swollen and puffy for up to a year after delivery. We have had several patients over the years become pregnant during their 1 year healing. And the ensuing pregnancy and facial swelling has not affect somebody's final result, when patients are followed for several years. Thank you so much for this question! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

I don’t think there’s any correlation between rhinoplasty surgery and pregnancy.
We generally avoid elective cosmetic surgery during pregnancy.
After pregnancy, it’s probably best to focus on your new child.
Other than that you should be able to do the procedure whenever you want to.
