Hello everyone, Since december of last year, of 2025 ive been exercising, i lost 60 pounds so far, and i want to lose 80 more pounds, i started at 309, Im 5'8 in height. Ive noticed that my neck is looking old and its staring to get wrinkes and lines, and im most positive its from the weight loss. My weight has been up and down my entire life since i was 14 years old, im 41 now. When i lost weight in the past my neck never looked like this before, but i guess its due to all the up and downs from weight loss i had in the past. What treatments do you recommend fro me to have to tighten my neck skin, and for the wrinkles to go away. Im a african american woman, caramel complexion.

Weight loss is one of the toughest things for the neck because the skin envelope stretches to accommodate the higher weight and doesn't snap back well, especially over age 35 to 40. Non-surgical skin tightening treatments can help around the edges but the workhorse for true wrinkly post-weight-loss neck skin is surgical lifting.
What works:
Neck lift with platysmaplasty. The most direct answer. Excess skin is removed, the platysma muscle is repositioned in the midline, and the neckline is sharpened. Recovery is 10 to 14 days for visible swelling. Result is comprehensive and durable.
Deep plane lower facelift if you also have jowling. This extends the neck work into the lower face and gives a more cohesive result. Recovery is similar.
For mild cases or patients deferring surgery:
Radiofrequency microneedling (Morpheus8, Genius RF) can tighten dermis modestly over a series of treatments. Best for mild laxity, less helpful for true skin redundancy.
Ultherapy uses microfocused ultrasound for deeper layer tightening. Modest improvement, takes 3 to 6 months to see, real but limited.
CO2 or fractional laser can help fine wrinkles and skin texture but won't lift loose tissue.
Honest read on your situation: if you can pinch significant excess neck skin or have visible platysmal bands, surgical correction will give you a much stronger result than any combination of energy-based treatments. The skin envelope has changed structurally and tightening devices can't reverse that.
Best move is a consultation with a facelift surgeon who can give you an objective read on the skin envelope. The pinch test (lift the skin and watch how fast it returns) is more informative than photos for this decision.
