In order for grafted fat to survive there has to be an abundance of a post tissue to support the graft. The chin is grossly lacking in host tissue and grafted fat in this area will dissipate, become the chronic and eventually dissolve. any impressive pictures you’ve seen a fat grafting in the termnaria are most likely early results that did not maintain permanence. Fat transfer is good for diffuse overall volume but is not good together large amount of volume in small specific areas like you need for a chin augmentation. There are three options to augment the chin. Fillers which are not dependent on hosted tissue, implants or a sliding genioplasty. There are three options to augment the chin. That is the reason surgeons who are talented and have experience don’t do fat grafting in this area.
