I see these terms used seemingly interchangeably so I’m not sure what each surgery does or if they’re all basically the same thing I have droopy lower eyelids that I would like straightened and is why I’m looking into this

The key to not getting lower lid retraction is to see a doctor who is comfortable with eyelid surgery and hasn't had problems with it. I've never had anyone develop this because we are careful to consider the degree of lid laxity prior to doing the surgery, and make efforts to compensate for it.
