Derotation and nose lengthening. Will the skin be more stretchable? (Photo)

I used to have a very long and big nose. During my primary, my nose was shrunk and raised too high for a man. I read the limiting factor for lengthening and de-rotating a nose in a revision is the skin and how flexible it is. Since my nose used to be long and big, does that mean the skin will be more stretchable?

Good Evening! You're correct that derotation and skin stretching in future rhinoplasty procedures can be challenging if too much rotation and shortening is performed initially. When I see males with overrotated noses, I have them begin stretching the skin 20 x per day for 20 seconds for 2-3 months. If the skin is very tight and there's concern for compromised blood flow, I may even recommend hyperbaric oxygen or nanofat injections to assist the skin. If you're skin stretches quite a bit, you may be in a good position depending on how much derotation is desired.
